Although the Food and Drugs Administration has approved the use of Botox to treat other problems, it is still in the process of getting the same to treat patients who experience migraine. This drug cannot be purchased over the counter and has to be prescribed by a physician.

Botox at this time is also not covered by those who have private insurance. The person may be able to get this for free but is treated on a case to case basis. Those living in the states of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana will be happy to know that Medicare offices there will shoulder the cost of this drug.

This has become a precedent since Medicare is also offered in other states which are also following the example done in these places.

People who still experience migraine using traditional medicine can ask the doctor about this breakthrough. If the 271 patients used in the test experience improved results, there is a chance the person can do the same.
